Arroz Biryani
Ingredients:
4 cups basmati rice
200g peas (he puts fresh, but I put frozen)
A piece of orange peel
1/2 cinnamon stick
6 grains cardamom
6-8 dates (the put raisins)
2 tablespoons almond to sheets
Some saffron
1/2 onion
Water, salt, oil
1 teaspoon sugar
Preparation:
Chop fine the onion and put it to soften. Meanwhile, cut into thin strips piece of orange peel. When the onion is almost, add the orange, cardamom (slightly crushed with a knife), cinnamon, dates and almonds small cut.
Give a few laps, as 2min, spices to release the aroma.
Add peas and rice and fry a little, while water (about 9 cups) is heated.
Pour the water and we covered over very low heat. When the water starts to evaporate, we add the saffron, well distributed, and let be finished.
